Friday Favorites

Hooray,  it's Friday!

I'm really excited for the weekend! I'm headed to my favorite city - Madison, WI to coordinate a wedding on Saturday. Don't forget to check back on Monday for my weekend recap!

Today, for Friday Favorites I'm linking up with fellow bloggers AmandaJennie & Erika to share five of my favorite things from this past week.

1. The Bachelorette Finale

Bachelorette: What Shawn Booth Did with Roses from Kaitlyn Bristowe

I love watching the newly engaged Bachelor/Bachelorette couples make their rounds with the media. I may be naive here, but I really do believe that Kaitlyn & Shawn are in love! I'm a hopeless romantic so I always, always pull for the couples to make it in the real world!

I believe in you Kaitlyn & Shawn! :)

2. Four Year Old T-ball

Have you ever watched four year old girls play t-ball? My nieces are on their first t-ball team this summer, and this week I got to see them play. It is so funny and cute to watch! They are pretty good at hitting the ball off the tee and running, but they definitely get a little bored when in the field.

At one point, they were sitting on the mound playing in the dirt (like many four years olds I'm sure), and I yell to them from the stands, "be ready, eyes on the batter!" Haha oh man - I have to remind myself that they are only four! I also might have gotten upset at the ump for a bad call he made at home. Eeek - crazy aunt alert! :)

But, seriously, being aunt is my favorite!

3. New Fonts

The Freakishly Huge Bundle of 40 Fonts and Bonus Vectors (Plus Web Fonts & Extended Licensing) - Only $39

Yesterday my sister & I got such a good deal on over 40 beautiful fonts to use for designing! They normally retail for over $500 and we got them for only $40!

If interested, you can check out the deal here

You might just see some of these fonts make an appearance on my blog. :)

4. Wedding Planner Prep

As I said, I am coordinating a wedding with my sister this weekend, and all this week we have been figuring out timelines, connecting with vendors and making to-do lists. While some people hate doing these kind of things, tasks like these are SO life-giving for me!

Lists on lists, details on details -- count me in!

Oh yeah - here is one of those fonts I just bought! I made a little cover page for our wedding to-do lists for Saturday. The bride's name is Emily, the groom's name is Zack, so their wedding hashtag is #LovingyouisEZ (get it- E. Z.) Isn't that the cutest?!

5. Spending time with my Mom

Since living with my mom for the past year, we spend quite a bit of time together. I was in Colorado for two weeks & I really missed her while I was gone! Also, while I was away, she did all of my laundry & cleaned my entire room. She is seriously the best!

Those are some of my favorites from this past week. What are your plans this weekend? Let me know in the comments!

Have a great weekend y'all!

Bedroom Tour

Yay it's Thursday! That means the weekend is only one day away & I can't wait!

I am really excited to share today's post with you -- I'm giving you a tour of my bedroom! Most of the decorating was done about a year ago, but I'm constantly adding pieces and changing things around.

Also, I want to put a disclaimer out there. 9 times out of 10 my room does not look this clean & organized. I actually moved a lot of clutter out of the way so that I could take these pictures. I always want to be real on this blog, and being real means telling you that I'm always a mess! :)

Anyways, let's get started!

This is a view of my room when standing in the hallway. It's kind of hard to tell in all these pictures, but the wall color is a pinky/beigey nude color (really good description, I know! haha). I don't know the color off hand, but it is a Behr paint bought at Home Depot.

One of my favorite parts of my room is the "gallery wall" above my desk, (which you will see more of in a second) and I love that it is one of the first things you see when entering my room.

To the left is my dresser. When I bought this dresser (from Target I believe) it was in pieces & I'm proud to say that I put it together all by myself. It hasn't fallen apart yet! (Knock on wood ;))

I got the lamp on clearance at Target last year for only $5. Gotta love a good deal!

This "Great Commission" print was given to me by one of my best friends, Dayleen. She actually asked me for my favorite Bible verse and then designed this print specifically for me! Isn't it awesome?

This vintage globe is one of my favorite pieces in my room. I got it from Odana Antiques in Madison, WI. It fits perfectly next to the print!

Next is my desk/office area. This is probably my favorite part of my room. I just love looking at it! The desk is from Target & it was really easy to put together. The chair is an old stool from Ikea.

I actually sit on my bed when I'm working during the day, but my computer does look nice when I actually put it on the desk -- haha!

As I mentioned before, I love the "gallery wall" above my desk. The frames are all from different places (Home Goods, Target, etc.) The floral print & yellow print (it says "Hello Sunshine") are from Rifle Paper Co.  The Madison postcard is from a shop on State Street in Madison, WI. The Wisconsin Union chairs picture was gifted to me. The wood panel wall art & the Wisconsin map print are both from Etsy shops (I don't recall the shop names - sorry!).

These vintage books are also from Odana Antiques and I have never read them -- I just liked the colors! :)

The white memo board & desktop chalkboard are both from the $3 section at Target (best section of the store - can I get an amen?!) I usually change the design on the chalkboard once a month, so it is still 4th of July themed at the moment. What should I put on it for August?! Let me know your ideas in the comments.

This canvas pen holder is also from Odana Antiques. The glass milk jar is from a shop in downtown Racine, WI called Humble Home - it's an old "Progressive Dairy" milk container, which also used to be located in Racine!

This bookshelf is a mess, but it holds all my papers & books for work. Also,  it has the one display of Badger pride in my room! :)

I got this ladder shelf at a thrift store in Eau Claire, WI. It was only $5 and came in the mint color. The paint is peeling and such, but it  totally adds to the vintage look.

The pillows on my bed were all hand sewn by my talented cousin Amber. If you think anything in my room looks good, it's nothing compared to her beautiful home! We love designing and crating when we get together!

I DIY-ed this canvas about two years ago. It was inspired by the hymn "Come Thou Fount."

I made this little canvas at the same time as the big one. They were so simple to make!

1. Buy a blank canvas - whatever size you want.
2. Use letter stickers & tape to make whatever design you desire - make sure you press them down so the edges stick really well.
3. Paint your color of choice over the sticker design you made.
4. Let the paint dry slightly, then peel the stickers off (these parts will remain white), then let the paint finish drying.

I mentioned the hymn "Come Thou Fount." It's one of my favorites, so when I found this print at Hobby Lobby (a design & styling enthusiast's dream store!), I just couldn't pass it up!

Thanks for taking a tour of my room with me! If you have any questions about anything you see, just let me know!

Have a great Thursday!

What's Up Wednesday

Hey, we've made it to Wednesday! One day closer to the weekend! :)

Today (& every last Wednesday of the month) I am linking up with other bloggers Shay, Mel & Sheaffer to answer theses questions:

1. What We're Eating This Week...

Right now, I'm living with my mom, (glamorous I know!) and her favorite food is popcorn. Several nights of the week we have my mom's homemade popcorn for dinner rather than cooking a real meal. Although popcorn probably isn't my favorite food, I've gotten pretty used to it. :)

2. What I'm Reminiscing About...

Have you heard of the Timehop app? Well, it's an app that you can check everyday & it shares all of the social media posts that you've posted on that particular day for the last seven years (or however many years you've been on social media.) Earlier this month I saw some pictures from my favorite family vacation ever -- when we went to Disney World the summer after I graduated college. I've been reminiscing about it ever since.

3. What I'm Loving...

I'm loving this blog! I've throughly enjoyed writing and sharing my thoughts & inspiration!

4. What I've Been Up To...

Not much! I've been working & enjoying this beautiful Wisconsin summer!

5. What I'm Dreading...

I can't think of anything I'm dreading...maybe the fact that summer is coming to a close soon? However, I do love me some fall weather as well!

6. What I'm Working On...

Currently, for my job & ministry with Cru, I do a lot of work from home. I also meet with people to share about my ministry, but most days I'm sending e-mails and making calls. So, thats what I'd say I'm working on. :)

7. What I'm Excited About...

This weekend my sister Amanda & I will be coordinating one of our roommates from college's wedding! We've been making lists & figuring out details, but I'm excited for it to all come together! I will post a recap of our wedding coordination experience on Monday for you to enjoy!

Gotta love early 2000's JLo in "The Wedding Planner" ;)

8. What I'm Watching/Reading...

My summer TV obsession (now that The Bachelorette is over) is Big Brother. It airs three days a week on CBS, so it seems like there is always an episode to watch. Any other Big Brother fans out there? I'm a fan of showmances, so I'm currently rooting for Clay & Shelli!

9. What I'm Listening To...

My favorite summer music is definitely country music. My two favorite country artists are Sam Hunt & Brett Eldredge. My current summer jam is "House Party" by Sam Hunt!

10. What I'm Wearing...

Most days in the summer I wear a dress. Even if I'm just staying at home for the day, dresses are what I feel most comfortable in. Most of the dresses I own are from Old Navy. Something simple like this...

11. What I'm Doing This Weekend...

As I said earlier, I'm coordinating a wedding! Wedding weekends are the best weekends! :)

12. What I'm Looking Forward To Next Month...

My family is taking an overnight trip to the Wisconsin Dells. Can't wait to spend some extended time with my nieces!

13. What Else Is New...

Not much that I can think of! This is my first What's Up Wednesday post, so I guess that's what's new! :)

What's up with you? If you have your own blog, join in with the link up! Or, tell me what's up in the comments section!

Tomorrow I have something exciting planned...a tour of my bedroom! It's going to be fun! :)

Happy Wednesday!
